the reviews didnt have much good to say about the venomas, I hope the new Cobras are better as everybody says they are. I just checked my local dealer and they were $337 a pr and since they are doing the install, Ill order thur them. Only $18 an axle to mount.balance.

Interesting read! I am on my second set of Venom's and so far they are probably the best tires I have every had. IMHO. The Metzlers were good until they be came ME880's! When you could get the rear in a Marathon and the front a ML2 thye were friggin awesome! 2 up pullin a trailer you could get 30,000 km on the rear and 50,000 km on the front no problem. Front ML2 cured the front end wobble on most Touring Bikes and handled like a rail wet or dry!
These new ME880's just don't seem to cut the mustard and a hearing way to many problems from them from all bike types!

Wow. The ME880's sure are getting beat up! Another reason I'm glad I found this forum and went with the Avon Cobras. About 500 miles so far and doing great.

We have run both Avon Venom's and Dunlop Elite II's and III's. All of them where very simular in both wet and dry conditions and all of them held well in tight cornering and braking. Mileage is better on the Dunlop Elite III's than the II's. For us mileage was about the same on the Venom and Elite III, 19 to 21 thousand on the front and 16 to 18 thousand on the rear. Price on the Elite III's was better than the Avon's. And I mount and balance the tires myself so I take advantage of ebay or sales and buy my tires way ahead of time and store them on the rack in my garage. We just bought a Dunlop Elite III 160/80B-16 on ebay for $95.00 delivered and a Avon Venom 160/80B-16 for $128.00 delivered. Sure beat the $200+ we have been quoted else where.

Motorcycle Tire Reviews

These tire threads are killing me. I took my bike in Thursday to have my cobras and dynabeads installed. Took it to the Victory shop because I always liked the mech there. WHen I got there I found out that there were new owners and one mech (not the usual guy). But the fees were lower and he seemed nice enough so I left it. He told me it would be Monday or Tuesday because he had to install a hitch on a Vision. I thought wow it takes you all day to mount that. So either he sucks or the vision and its hitch are a sh*tty design. For my mental stability I will blame it on the vision. Anyway I called this morning to see if it was done because the weather is supposed to go to pot here for the rest of the week and I wanted to get it home. Actually I just wanted to ride it cause its sunny and 40 today.
Anyway the told me their tire machine is broken and the parts will arrive some time this week. Tire Machine????? Now I have to believe he ain't such a great mech. I was to surprised to think fast and tell him he didn't need it to do my tire because there was no computer balance.
Oh sh*t what have just subjected my beautiful Nomad to????
