Baby got new shoes
Had the cobra's put on the '07 Nomad yesterday. From the first turn I noticed an unbelievable difference in handling. Went to the 180/70's in the rear. Had Metlers and elites on different bikes but at this point I'm going to have to say these could be the best tires I've had for any of my motorcycles. The bike felt like you could throw it into turns like my old st1100.
I read a number of months ago about the difference between the stock stones and new tires (metzlers) made him realize that his riding skills weren't as bad as he had thought. He was talking about having trouble keeping his intended lines etc. and when he got the new tires it was like a new bike and was amazed at the difference. I'm there with him now. Again, totally amazed. Don't know about wet weather yet. Thanks Mac. The right side swingarm bearing was dry. U-joint OK driveshaft splines lubed. Didn't have them do the needle bearings in the shocks yet. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Them new Cobras are nice ain't they. They hold great on wet pavement. the only other bike I know of that rides as good as a Nad with the Cobras, may be a Goldwing. I am very impressed with the Cobras, I do like'em a whole lot better than the last 2 sets of Metzelers I had.

Vulcan E:
I am amazed. Maybe it has to do with the fact they have 5 ply sidewalls. |

Hi, I pay $20 (Canadian +tax) per tire to have them installed and balanced if I take the wheel off the bike.

As the new 1700's all come with 130/90 - 16 front tires anyone tried that on the 1500 / 1600 Nomad? Wonder if that would help with the headshake? Stealer has put new steering head bearings in / re-torqued twice and check rear swingarm - shake is still there. Second new tire on front ( no change). Wonder if the skinnier front would make a difference?

I had the local independent shop put my Cobra on the back. I bought the tire online and took the bike to him with the tire. He charged me $50 to install it. Worth it to me.
This coming spring I will have a Cobra put on the front. I like them. ![]()

My dealer charges $35 per tire....you don't need to take the wheel...bring in the whole bike. You don't even need to buy the tire there...kind of weird.
I also heard Cycle Gear only charges $20 if you buy the tires through them but you have to take wheel off + on the bike yourself.

I will be watching this closely. I am considering Cobras for my next set.

I had my rear tire installed at the dealer.Sign said $60 for rear.Dropped it off but when I picked it up they said it was going to be more because they had to remove the bags.
Total was $129 and some change. I told them that I would take the bags off for $70. Needless to say,I'm looking for a new shop or I'm going to accessorize my garage. |
