KawaNOW....on the Kawasaki map.
A couple of things have happened lately that I felt was worth mentioning about KawaNOW.
First, let me say that KawaNOW now has 900 registered members. Only 18 months after its' inception, KawaNOW has hit the 900 member mark and shows no chance of slowing down. Applications still come in at an average rate of 4 a week. At the rate applications are coming in, I expect for KawaNOW to reach 1000 registered members by the third quarter of 2009. Second, and most importantly, KawaNOW is now considered an affiliate club of Kawasaki. Many weeks ago, I was contacted by Teri Conrad, Communications Coordinator for Kawasaki Corp and Managing Editor for Accelerate Magazine, Riders of Kawasaki (ROK). Teri had been researching and looking closely at KawaNOW and wanted to know more about our club, it's philosophy, it's history and activities. Over a period of several weeks, Teri and I communicated and I submitted to her all the information she wanted about KawaNOW. KawaNOW is now listed as an affiliate club of the ROK. We are now listed on the Kawasaki website at: http://www.kawasaki.com/ROK/Affiliates.aspx AND Teri has designated me as a liason between the KawaNOW membership and Kawasaki Corp. This will give us the opportunity to be written up occasionally in Accelerate Magazine. Teri is going to write an article for Accelerate Magazine sometime next year about the liasons and their groups and KawaNOW will be included. Teri has also asked me to keep her posted on our National Rally in June of 2009. She will probably publish an article about it. Teri has also asked me to submit some of my trip reports to her for possible publication later. So, as you can see, this is a public relations milestone for KawaNOW. No longer is KawaNOW just a startup club... KawaNOW is here to stay!! All of you as KawaNOW members are to be commended for your efforts and contributions to not only the Nomad community, but to KawaNOW as well. These are exciting times for KawaNOW and 2009 will be even better. I thank all of you for being a part of KawaNOW. Sincerely, Robert "Trip" Hilliard KawaNOW Founder & President
