Check the electrical connection by the clutch lever.
Unhook it, clean it, and put it back on.

I'll check but I don't think so, the odometer is not showing anything either

Check the kill switch on the handlebars. Take the right side housing apart and inspect the connections. Also, check the connections on the starter relay located under the right side cover. Mine had some corrosion on the ends which caused some intermittent starting problems.

Always check fuses for continuity. Use a volt ohm meter. A fuse can look good but actually be blown on an end where you can't see it.

First Sylvain, remove and clean the battery cable connections and tighten them back up. Undo the neg first, put back the neg last so you don't accidentally short something if the wrench slips. Yeah I know new battery, but maybe when they installed it the connections are not the tightist. Also can you get a volt meter? Check what the battery reads. Full charge should be 12.7 at least on a new battery.

Too bad I'm at the cottage for 2 weeks, otherwise I would come over and give you a hand.

What is nothing? Answer that and make sure you have not pulled the clutch lever connector OFF by mistake. Everyone does that sooner or later. I don't mean dangling either just pulled off a little bit is all it takes.

There are side stand switch clutch switch, and neutral switch, plus the red engine kill button that can mess with your head.

Hey Mac, long time no see Nothing means NOTHING, no power to anything, no fuel pump hum, no lights, no numbers in the odometer niet nada.... I'm going to check all that you have mentionned, hoping it's one of those problems. I had taken apart my starter switch last year, had a wire disconnected, but had power.... checked yesterday, all is good there, looked that way....

Hi back. I remember you.... You need a ice pick test light or a volt meter in the form of a multimeter.

It won't be the little bit I made mention of, not with that NADA thang.....

You need a meter to read battery volts at the battery. next you need to follow that (+) battery cable to the main fuse hidden in a black box behind and under the coolant over flow jug.

Seek power there after you find the box and get it open. Test the terminals there too.

A fast test there is to probe the (+) side twice at the same time. One digital meter probe on the battery (+) post and the other meter probe to each of the (+) terminals in the black box.

The good reading is 0.000 a bad reading would be 0.02 This is testing the wire with dcv (direct current volts) for a high resistance (+) to (+).

You can also check with a standard test in addition. That test would be black meter probe to the (-) battery and keep it there and test each connector starting with the battery to passing that black box looking for a drop in dcv.

The testing time is used up in getting to these things, not the tests themselves which take a second.

I didn't understand it was you!

Does the fuel pump hum for a couple seconds when you turn on the key? It should, if not its most likely the ignition switch, try turning on and off briskly a few times.
Also check the kill switch and sidestand switch and neutral as Bill mentioned.

Maybe the switch, but have you checked that the battery is full charge first? Or try jumping it with a car battery with the car off? This way you know you are hunting for a issue in the electrical system and have at least eliminated one possible cause. Do you have a multi meter?
