That Burnt Smell

Ok
At certain points from time to time my Nomad emits this burnt smell.
The bike currently has 4200 miles on it and it's an 08.
I have literally looked over every wire and connection stock or otherwise and I see nothing that looks burnt.
I can not see any signs of leaks, oil or otherwise.
Is this maybe the catalytic converter?
Break in smells?
Is it going to burst into flames?
