Price of Avon Cobras

I just picked up a set of Avon Cobras for $154 Cnd for the front and $196 Cnd for the back. Judging by the prices I found on the Internet I think I did pretty good. What do you think?

You're going to like the cobras but haven't checked prices lately. I am running cobra in the front and would run cobra in the rear if I didn't run the car tireback there.

I bought front and rear Cobras this late winter / early spring. I paid I think around $180 for rear and a little less for the front. Don't know what that would work out to be in Canadian $$.

Local Honda dealer, He is a good Friend of my brothers and so I try to support him when I can. His parts manager usually knocks a bit off for me.

In a perfect world the price should be the same in Canada and the U.S as the dollar is just about par. That does not happen often though, we usually pay more here.

That sounds like a good price Norm, my pal just paid $240.00 for a front Dunlop, plus 1.2 hours installation.

In April 2011 I paid $224. for a rear cobra from local honda dealer.

back in April 2009 I paid the same price at the same place

.83 HRs. to install both times at the same rate.

same rate two years apart thats unheard of :-/

It sounds like you paid full list price. I got mine from Dennis Kirk this spring, I think it was $80 bucks off per tire, with a list price of what you paid would put it down right around $180 for rear. Also free shipping. I do remember part of what I paid included $5 bucks for something. I think it's some type of new tax per tire to the feds or whatever.

The $254 was the rear I had changed for the National. I don't even remember where I got it. CRS syndrome.
That tire got a hole in it on the way home from the National which would not plug. I paid $300 for the rear that replace that one.
1200 miles from home is no place to buy tires.

Bull Durham, we have that tax here, 3 bucks a tire. It is supposed to be a tire disposal tax. I believe it is to make sure they are recycled and don't end up in land fills, but I have no clue how it works or is administered.

I'm not sure how it works either. Dennis Kirk operates out of Minnesota. I could be wrong, but when I had my tires mounted it seems like I also paid a couple bucks at the bike shop to dispose of the tires. At least that's how they had it thrown in to the total price of mounting tires.
