Memorial Day - Nat. Cemetery

On Memorial Day it has been a tradition of mine to visit a cemetery where Veterans are buried. Today I got up before the heat and visited the National Cemetery in Raleigh, NC. It was a nice day to pay respects and to walk among the graves and to think of loved ones and friends who have served the USA. I noted that some of the Civil War vets resting there were killed in early April 1865 – days before the war ended. There was also a section for those buried at sea thus recognizing their sacrifice for our freedom.

I hope our Nation never forgets freedom is not free.

Memorial Day - Nat. Cemetery

Bill, I hope none of us ever forget how we have our freedom. It danged sure isn't the government that has given it to us. It is all the veterans that have served in the past and are still serving. Glad you made it out to one of the national cemeteries. Makes me wish I had of thought of that.
