Phot, a member on here made one for his Nomad some time back, and it looked pretty good. He did a write-up on it, but I can't seem to find it using the "search" feature. I don't recall if it was on this forum or on another.

Here's a pic of his bike, and you can see his center stand.

Hey Cliff, any chance you know this member or maybe we can reach him through the members list. That is, IF he has his email posted or is in his profile. Any idea what year his Nomad is?

I know that it is a 1600, either a 2005 or a 2008. That is the only years that color combo was available.

I thought I read that the 2 tabs on the underside of the frame were originally for a center stand. Assuming that is true I wonder why kawa never followed through and offered it.

I read on a few forums in the past that one reason Ma Kawi didn't include one is 2 fold. 1 Cost, if they can not add an item it saves money and weight (especially when shipping). Also it maybe have originally been thought of as an accessory? 2. Adding the centre stand would lower the clearance especially over curbs etc. Maybe it was thought that due to that it wasn't a good idea? Also having it on the bike may interfere with using a bike lift?
Again not sure, but I could see any of the reasons being why they didn't add one. Also if it's anything like some other large bikes (of the past) that had centre stands it could be a BITCH to put it up for some. I remember my friends V65 Magna. Now that was a bear to get up on the stand when you didn't do it all the time and know the balance point.
I think the link on the first post is similar in design to the bike posted with the stand on it. And yes it looks like an 05 to me.

I owned a V65 Magna for many years, and never had a problem with the center stand. Was this an issue?

He was kinda skinny and had difficulty getting it on the centre stand. I'd try it but didn't know the point of balance or where to grab. I did finally find it a few times, but due to the fact I didn't do it much it was a bit of a pain to me. His problem was different than mine

I just used it as an example. It had a lot higher ground clearance too.

I think the tabs on our frames are a throw back to when these frames were used for the K1000 police bike model units, and other models that use the same/similar frame.

Center stand is something I really miss. It would be great if one could be installed. With a center stand a person could fabricate a pit front and back to do tire work. There would be no need for a lift. With some cement and some thinking you could definitely make it work. The pits would have a cover so you could ride or push the bike in place. Then the covers could be taken off when you needed to do work involving the tires or swing arm. Just my thought.

the people on the link I showed their price is around 300 to 350 that was why I thought maybe Chuck or Bud might look at it and see if they could come up with something.
