RADIO HOOK UP

I ran mine off of a separate fuse box so it is hot when the key is on and the constant hot wire I ran from the hot post on the battery.

RADIO HOOK UP

You could use the horn wire or a front marker light for your switched source of power.

RADIO HOOK UP

If it's a 1600, you have an accessory connector inside your headlight bucket that is always hot. You could use that to power the memory. For switched power, you could use the running light circuit as long as the radio doesn't draw too much current. Otherwise, use a relay to make a switched power source.

RADIO HOOK UP

use a relay and hook up a fuse box while you are at it - it will be worth it in the future for any other add ons thatyou are bound to add.
I added a relay from the tail light as my on power. I like that because most accessories don't need to have constant power.
I can't recall which wire i used for the constant power - search the web for write ups on adding a fairing to a bike and wiring the stereo.
If you send me a note with your email address - I'll forward you a couple ariticles I referenced.

What type of radio are you using?
I picked up a marine grade sony. Depending on what type of fairing you got, you might want to give some thought on moisture. I had the two peice harley style. After cutting the headlight bucket to allow the stock nomad headlight to fit, I was worried about moisture creepin ginto the electronics.
to combat this, I added an alluminum plate under my stereo to take up most of the space in the fairing - which will act as a fender if moisture comes up from the headlight towards the stereo.

RADIO HOOK UP

What is the radio in watts or amps?

I agree to use the white and blue wire for memory that is off a 10 amp ciruit.

The horn wire would be my next choice which is a 15 amp circuit, if there is no relay.
