New Michelin Tire

New Michelin Tires... Look for 'em in August.

These tires are made in South Carolina , USA .

SEE THROUGH TIRES

Radical new tire design by Michelin.
The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.

Yes, those are 'spoke' like connections to the inner part of the tire from the outside tread 'wrap!' The next picture shows how odd it looks in motion...

Makes you wonder how the ride feels doesn't it?

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.

The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these.

Just think of the impact on existing technology:
A.. No more air valves...
B. No more air compressors at gas stations...
C. No more repair kits...
D. No more flats...

I believe it'll be a rough ride

New Michelin Tire

Looks like they'd be a nightmare to clean. Think I'll stick with air up tires.

That's some weird looking tire. I wonder if the wind across those vanes makes it whistle going down the road.

Very interesting. I wouldn't mind trying them out, depending on price.

I heard about those some time ago. It'll be interesting to see if they make it to market.

New Michelin Tire

The pic is a cut away.........

I think these still use air, but don't have to have air to still roll a good long ways.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of the Fedral mandated Law to have a radio in each wheel as is current on new model cars I think 06 and up.

Somebody is going to win and somebody is going to loose. and both are fixing a problem that doesn't exist. These are laws to gain money.

Someone emailed me this picture a couple or three years ago. I haven't seen any on the street yet.

Guess time will tell what happens. I thought it was a rather interesting design.
