Give me a few more weeks. My buddy is pretty sure its a candy color and it may come down to how many coats to get the right shade. I found my last bike colors in the Hot Hues selection and the Spectra Master catalog from Dupont.
I will let you know what I find out. It find out something in the mean time PM me as well.
Thanks, Bill

That"s what i had to do paint the fairing. Having to play with shades, if you want the exact perfect match, you have to paint all at same time. ???
OK this is an idea for next year

I have the PPG color code. Rick is painting his on his wifes 2006 VN900 Classic and it is supposed to have the same RED paint as our 2008 Nomads. He wants the Dupont color code as he does not like shooting PPG paint. And from what I was told from VROC members when I was painting our fairings the Color Rite paint will not match.

ColorRite was my choice. Great match but pricey.

Color Rite is not any higher than PPG. The red throught PPG is $88.50 a 1/2 pint. Color Rite runs $86.00 + shipping for 1/2 pint.

Not if your painter knows what the hell he is doing. Mine has been using Dupont for better than 14 years and can match balls on. He painted the fairing and side covers for my '01 Nomad and you could not tell them from factory.
I have not personally dealt with color-rite, I have always just read color-wrong. Did not match well and expensive.
If you can cross the PPG code to Dupont that would be great. If not give me time and I will have it.

The red is a tri-stage paint so it will be difficult to match perfectly. Each layer will change the color. Good luck.

What are you having painted?

Rick bought some damaged Nomad bags and are going to install them on his wife's 2006 VN900 Classic. So we will have a mini Nomad in the group. He also has an older Goldwing trunk he is looking at maybe installing on it.

To get the best match you really need to shoot color cards with say 1,2,3,and 4 coats of the candy fire red topcoat
to see which is the best match then shoot the fairing. Takes some time but you'll get a good match to the paint. That's why a good two tone paint job on a fairing will run 3-500 bucks.
