Battery maint.

Are the stock Nomad battery maint. free OR do you have to add distilled water? Mine is 2 yrs old and I haven't even checked it? Any tidbits to do guru gearheads?? Thx.

maint. free. I believe it is a sealed gel cell.

I'm just gonna keep it on the charger and start it when the roads are dry. Too hard to keep clean with the wet salty roads. So far the weather has been pretty good. It was warm yesterday. Took it out for about 70 miles up the canyon yesterday after work.

I have a 2005, and it sealed and maint. free. I keep it on a trickle charger year round. I start it once ever week and run it till the fan comes on or if the weather is fair, ride down the road and back. So far its like a new one.

SHM: You better get out there and RIDE that scoot before it rust up. Nad's are meant to roll. :-)

Doc, I have the same year as you..and same color...hmmm...scary. Anyway, I haven't put mine on a charger yet, but I ride nearly every day so I don't have a problem with my battery.

This winter, if it's as bad as they claim it's supposed to be, I may break down and get a trickle charger.

I never put mine on a trickle charge, Just crank it and ride. I just had to replace mine it lasted 5 years so I got no complaints.

Thats the way I do it, ride daily unless ice/snow is on the ground. No trickle chg here yet, 2 yrs. and counting. Are we supposed to get a BAD winter Socw???

I still have the original battery on my 02, its is getting a little weak if the bike sits for a week or 2 , but works fine for daily use.
