Check Your Nuts

As I posted last week Valdez has been showing me how to do the maintenance on my Nad. Yesterday we dove into removing the front wheel & tire. Last weekend we did the rear wheel & had a b!tch of a time getting the rear axle nut off.

So I put the 24mm socket on the front axle nut with a 18" breaker bar, I get ready to apply all my weight to the nut & fall flat on my face. The nut was only finger tight!!

In addition the four bolts that hold the 2 brake calipers on, only
one need a ratchet to remove it. 3 of the 4 were finger tight also.

I've always had a front end wobble when I let go of the handlebars, but I thought it was the nature of the beast. I may have found a cure.

So the moral of the story is, Check Your Nuts, you may be surprised at what you find.

80lbs torque for the axle nut & 25lbs for the calipers, as per Clymer's..........-Rich

Check Your Nuts

Nearly lost one of my passenger floorboards after having the bike 1 month. Not surprising.

Check Your Nuts

Hi, Check the radiator drain nut and the nuts that hold the rear indicator bar under the fender. I can almost guarantee they will be loose.
