Those Damn Stickers
Does anyone have any ideas, what is the best way to get those ugly stickers off the tank and side bags? I apologize if there has been a thread about this in the past.
thanks, John Login or Register to Remove Ads |

The best way is find a woman with finger nails. My 06 had these and hasn't a one anywhere anymore, except inside the bags..
"She" removed the one on the frame, the drive shaft, the 3 tapes on each bag, the one on the speedo and tank before I could peel one. "She" wasn't even my wife!

WD40---didn't need any heat, be patient and let it soak.

I pull the brushes off a hair dryer and then hold it close to the sticker for about a minute. If the sticker is on a tube, you can sometimes get it started by using dental floss. If it's on a flat surface, you can use a piece of plastic like an old credit card. This will not mark the paint. I have a can of 3M Adhesive Remover that I bought at the auto parts store to remove the remaining glue.

I heat up with a hairdryer and get them started with a credit card. After I pull them off I clean the glue off with gas which works much faster than WD40.

Heat them up, I let mine sit in the sun, pull them off, then I used a strip of nylon tape. Act like your taping over the spot, then pull the tape up, after several times, all the sticky stuff is gone. It sticks to the tape, and didn't have to use chemicals.

Goo Gone works just as well. Just let the sticker soak for a minute or two and "wipe" off. Repeat as needed.
