Well I sure hear a wide range of insurance premiums for Nomads. I know there are lots of variables but I think it would be interesting to hear some rates + companies. Here is my info.
Maybe we could find a company that would gve us some type of group rate? 2003 Nomad :) Age:50 :-[ Covered Value: $8000k Bike + up to $3500 in options Deductible: $250 collision/$100 other Limits: Injury $250k per person/$500k per accident Foremost (Aarp rate)- $305 year :'( Uninsured Motorist- None (Have health insurance instead) Driving Record: 1 ticket (tags-non moving)

This is NO JOKE...I saved a whole bunch of money by switching my motorcycle insurance policy to Geico
![]() I am 44 years old and have had my motorcycle license since I was 16. I have two motorcycles on the policy and I am the only rider for both. I learned that Geico and Progressive are the two competitive motorcycle insurance companies. They were .50 cents difference on the 1 year policy. |

I pay $485.00 a year and thats for pl & pd only. Full coverage would be an additional $325.00.
Paying $810.00 a year is to much for me, considering the bike sits up to 4 months a year. Thats the best rate I could find around here after checking with a few brokers.

Wow. When I insured my bike, I went with my current insurer - American Family, I have all 3 of our vehicles, our home and boat through them. I am 48, clean driving record, and I passed the MSF BRC. I am the only operator of the Nomad. I pay nearly $90/month for my Nomad. I compared to Geico, Nationwide, Rider, and there's another big one, I can't recall the name, and every stinking one was as much or more as I'm paying. Part of the reason it's high is because we ride 12 months/year here, I live within a couple hours of the border and Phoenix has a high accident rate. My car insurance is expensive, too. Oh well, what can you do?

Foremost insurance with the works and 250 Deduct. I pay 776 a year.
Now really being 25 and only having been ridnig for three years I dont concider that bad at all especially with all my tickets from college years. I was told I am kinda on the low side because of marriage, safety( even with 7 tickets [ none of which were reckless] from 19-21, i have never been involved in a wreck or even made a claim period) and the beiggest reason, me being a techer. I guess they think teachers are calm and safe. Little do they know my three main hobbies are the bike, guns, and scuba diving, yes in open water and mostly hoping to be with sharks. 39 yo
Full Coverage 1k deductables 5k medical coverage $3500 chrome and extras coverage $10k replacement Roadside assistance Cost: $176 per year through Progressive.com I checked with Farmers because I have everything else through them and really have good rates, but they couldn't do the medical and their rate was a little higher. I also checked some other online, and nothing came close to Progressive.com. |

Everyone should go to http://progressive.com and check what it would cost. Don't be afraid to give them your info to check. All they'll do is send you one email with the quote, they don't spam, or at least they didn't me. I checked all kinds of bikes while looking and before purchasing the nomad. They always had the lowest (by far) rates.

I was with Progressive and when I traded for the Nomad it went from $137/year to $219/year. Did some on-line quotes and came up with Esurance for $154/year!! 100/300, $3500 chrome , $250 deductible, towing ,etc. I'm happy with it!

I am with progressive and pay $328.00 per year full coverage 250 deductible they say I am in a high risk because of my age and health problems and because I ride a motorcycle duh I wouldn't insurance it if I didn't ride it. By the way no tickets or accidents for over 30 years until Bea fell off I guess it will be even higher now

If you have good health insurance elsewhere check on opting out on the motorcycle medical coverage. My passenger is still covered. With Progressive I'm paying $185 a year with $3000 accessory coverage included. 100/300 liability, $100 deductable.
