Search Engine??

What's wrong with the search engine here?
Ran a search for winter gloves - nothing
Ran a search for heated gloves - nothing
I know for a fact there is at least one thread that has this in it. So, is the search as useless as it appears to be? If not, how can I use it effectively?

It is indeed as usless as it appears to be.
To be blunt it sucks big time.

Yes, it does suck. Can't search using a word with < 4 characters. If your search returns too many results, it fails. Not a very robust search engine.

I searched for winter gloves and it returned a number of results. Make sure you are not searching for "match all words", you want to "match entire phrase". Also make sure you are using a valid time period to search in. The default is 7 days. Probably not much discussion of winter gloves in the past week. Go back 180 days or so.

I typed in Dwarf Dufus and this was the result I got!

You need to use at least three words as well, we had a member here that could find anything he wanted with it. He obviously understood how it worked a lot better than most of us.

Michael,
I have found it works best to use the search by deselecting the "search all" box, and selecting the boxes of the areas I am most likely to find what I am looking for. Also, make sure you change the number of days (at least 180 days, like CJ said), and also the number of hits. If you put too large a number in there, it will glitch. It is a fairly useless search engine, but it will work if you finesse it a little.

Thanks all. I had better success after "tweaking" the search. Got what I was looking for without posting a new thread that repeats an older one - which is always desirable.

I use the google search michael and it works good enough. Enter kawanow in your search and the topic you want. Or you can ask us. I use Widder heated gloves and jacket, and they do a fine job.
