Memphis shades fairing

I recieved the fairing Friday and installed it last night.Very easy to install.Remove some windshield and lower hardware to install the quickrelease hardware.I wanted to keep the lowers so I used longer bolts through the quickrelease hard ware on the fork to remount the lowers .I wanted the memphis shades fairing because I wanted to keep my risers and audio system.Fairing is still black but plan on painting to match when budget alows.I used the 12" windshield because I am 6'tall and the top edge is even with my nose.I ordered the chrome trim for the windshield and the extra lowers.First ride was very impressed .Less buffeting and the bike seemed to go through the air more smoothly.Maybe my imagination

I think the fairings are the piece that Kawasaki forgot to include wit the bikes. They really seem to finish it off nicely, Congratulations!

Looks good. Mine is sitting in the garage boxed up waiting to be installed, hopefully this week. Other than the windshield, what else did you have to remove to install the quick release hardware??? Do the deflector wings come close to hitting the tank? Thanks, James

The instructions for the mount kit have you removing the brackets that the lowers mount on and using the bolt holes in the fork to mount the four round mounts with the supplied bolts.I wanted to keep the lowers so I got some longers bolts and remounted the lowers brackets outside the fairing mounts.I needed bolts about an inch longer. The lower wind deflectors have plenty of clearance from the tank if mounted correctly.I had them backwards at first and they touched the fork.Make sure the curve of the deflector matches the curve of the fairing at the bottom and they fit with no issues.Hope this helps Steve

The only difference on the Memphis Shades they say then Wide Open or the Risk fairings is I think it is smaller on the lenght not by much but smaller. It also does not have a stereo and that I think is the better way to go, Get a Cycle Sounds System Ipod bar speakers 2 1/2" HANDLEBAR mounted and they sound great !!! I heard them in a Harley Dealer showroom who had them on a Road King trade in and he played it against an Ultra's Audio's System and the Cycle Sounds Systems Kicked it's Butt LOL!!! Your Bike with the Batwing Looks just GREAT !

Thanks legendzzz for the comments.Jared,I purchases the package from Badgers Hollow Motorsports in Georgia.Italked to Jason and he was very helpful His phone is 678-963-5168.I checked the Memphis Shades website and got all the part numbers there. The total for the fairing ,mount kit ,windshield, fairing lowers and chrome windshield trim came to $427.95 including shipping.Saved around $80.00 over the listed prices on the Memphis shades website and other dealers.

I'm going to try and get mine mounted next weekend, any way you could give me a close up picture of the mounts and how you re-mounted your lowers? I'd like to get all the hardware in hand before I start and also it will give me an idea of what I'll need to do to make it work. Thanks, Steve

Sure Steve I can do that.I looked through my pictures and none showed any detal so I will try to take some. The instruction have you removing the brackets the lowers and the windshield bolt to and bolting the 4 round mounts to the fork. What I did was sandwich the mounts under the original lowers mount using longer bolts.Easy fix but I will post a picture
to help.
