Can someone tell me how high/far back can I go with pullbacks & not have to play with the cables? Saw these on Ebay...

That set should work for you with the cables posing no problem. They are 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" risers according to there add.
Im using 4x2 risers and the cables reached with no problems.

Another Riser question

These risers do look cool but we removed a set of these off of a 1600 because they were hitting the nacelle to the point where the turning radius of the Nomad was compromised. You might want to check with the seller and see if they do not work, if you can return them because I'm guessing they will hit the nacelle.

We also found that the bolts to hold the risers to the triple tree were not tight when we went to remove them. Tried to tighten them up, thinking it would pull them into place better and the bolts were nearly impossible to get at, and would not tighten. There was a fair bit of forward and back movement on the handlebars because the risers were loose.

Thanks CycleCat, at the risk of sounding like an idiot, what's a nacelle? I will check the return policy also. Not so much going for looks as I don't want to keep throwing a bunch of cash at this bike if I'm not going to be able to set it up for this short guy to be comfortable...

The chrome speedo cover/shroud. My Aeromach risers don't touch the nacelle. At full lock on the handlebars they stop within about 1/4" of touching it on either side. They are type specific to the 1600 Nomad. The risers for the 1500 would hit the nacelle on a 1600. I'm not sure about the other way around.

My risers used to come loose also, until one time I had the triple tree off the bike. I was then able to tighten the risers really well with a ratchet in the vice, and I also used LocTite. Never had a problem since.

I have the Phat II risers and you can't go much farther than the pull back they provide. Check out the specs for the PhatII risers at scootworks.com The pull bavk on these is 3 1/2" according to their website.

I don't want to sound rude but can someone explain this to me? I do not understand how someone with a 30"" inseam cannot get both feet flat on the ground when sitting on a Nomad? I am quite a bit overweight, 5'4" tall with a 29" inseam (30" with my boots), have a 160 rear tire on my Nomad, have a really thick sheepskin on the seat, and I can get both feet flat on the ground.

Stock seat, same as you, with no modification.

Same here when riding solo. 2008 Nomad, bone stock, 30" inseam, 10lb in each shock, and I can only get one foot flat on the ground - the heel of my other foot would be raised off the ground a bit. And I wear military jump boots with 1" heel.

Maybe it's the weight. I'm about 170lb, but if my wife's on the back, the extra weight makes it sit a little lower - not much, but enough to get both feet flat.

Could also be the age and or mileage on the bike. Mine's a 2008 purchased new in 2009 with about 3,000 miles so far. Maybe it'll sit lower after some mileage.

Don't know the answer. I weigh a bit more than that and have 30 pounds in the rear shocks.

Again, don't know the answer since I'm shorter and fatter than you boys and can get both feet on the ground.
