It is done. The Dunlop SP 5000 195/60 - 16 is on the rim, the rear end service is done and it is all back together....just need to clean the bike up now.

Here are a couple pics of the tire on, it has exactly 0 miles on it...I am exhausted! That tire was a bear to get on the rim, glad it should last for a long time, don't want to have to do that again anytime soon!

Riding tomorrow so that is the beg test.

Enjoy it. Take it easy until you get comfortable.

Then you need a "Darkside" sticker to replace that "MotoSports."

Ride safe!!

Did you install the tire by hand or with a tire machine? it looks good on there.

What did you use for balancing?
I like the looks of the tire on the bike.I am really starting to lean towards the darkside.

I used the same setup as the Harbor Freight MC tire changer (available at Princess Auto in Canada):

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=34542

In the Youtube videos I saw made it look sooooo easy, it was not, but it does work. Just need to be careful with the disk, I mounted the tire disk down in the videos they did it disk up and that scares me a bit, one wrong move and the disk is damaged. Here is one of the videos.

Dynabeads, have not heard a bad report on them yet, so gave them a try. A 2 oz bag is all it takes for the tire.

Don't worry about damaging the disk/rotor. Take it off. It's easy to do. When you put it back on just make sure to torque the bolts to 20 ft-lbs and use non-permanent loctite on them.

That is the same tire I put on Thursday and I rode about 125 miles today and loved it. It does have a different feel on old narrow rodes at slow speed. If feels like it wonts to follow some of the bad place not bad just a little different. I went up the dragon no problem.

Did about 20 miles today, wind gusting up to 40 mph here, so not the best riding, so really hard to get a good read on the tire. I have it set at 37 psi right now, and did not feel anything bad up to highway speeds. Overall the bike still corners well, more just me being a bit paranoid with the tire being the first ride on the CT.

Even if I had it broke in there is still a lot of sand / gravel from the winter snow and ice here so really hard to do anything aggressive with the tire anyway.

I was going to suggest 37 psi. What psi did it take to seat the tire on the bead of the wheel?

How many tries did that take?

The tire is rated at 51 psi and I didn't exceed that psi to seat the beads.. (not dyna beads)

I did use 2 oz of Dyna beads though. All I have around here is old back roads in the woods.

I like the way that tire eats up bad pavement.

The tire beads popped at around 38-40 psi... a lot lower than I expected. Once I got the tire on the rim....(insert assortment of 4 letter words during that process)....the beads set the first try and the tire was ready to got back on the bike about 10 minutes after the tire was on the rim.

Overall it went good, just a lot harder to get the new tire on than I expected. I think if I ever have to do it again, I will do it in the summer when I can leave the tire in the sun to warm up....I hear that helps.

I levered my tire on, and that wnet ok, but seating the beads was 5 tries with some pretty colorful sailor talk too

When you combine sailor talk with yankee it has power! Now if you ask me I have no accent, but crossing the country in most anyother places folks asked me if I was from England. That seems odd to me..
