ignition switch

i have a 05 vulcan nomad, 32000 miles on it and the on off ignition switch went bad, i took it apart and realized its insides can be turned around 180 degrees to utilize a spare set of contact points, only trouble now is my running light at the rear does not functin, bike starts and runs , park lights work. as does the brake light, bulb is good so are the fuses. is the rear running light tied to the ignition switch? and if i just buy a new one will it help my trouble? thank you

ignition switch

Are you sure the tail lamp filiment is really good? Do you have a ice pick looking test light. If not get to walley world with 4 big dollars and buy one. Under the main seat is a red wire leading to the tail light. Seek (+) there...
