Tire Pressure?

Basic tire pressure question:
Is required pressure based on the tire or the bike?
I had new tires put on in Utah last year and I have no idea what the frack they are. I suppose I could have gone and looked before I started this...anyway: tire or bike?

Tire Pressure?

The motorcycle manufacturer will set the recommended PSI on the low side. Your tires will have a shorter life span at lower PSI. Go check the Max PSI on the tire wall and use that high PSI setting. I run my Metz 880's at 40-41 PSI.

Tire Pressure?

It's tire based as construction varries by brand and specific model. Good rule of thumb is every tire is marked with max pressure recomendation. Set your tire at 5% below that number "COLD" for normal use. If you are running heavily loaded and/or high speed then go with max recommended pressure, again set COLD!

Thanks trosco,
That's what I was wondering. I'll get down in there tonight and get the info off the tires and go from there.
