Back from Jamaica.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
My wife and I just got back from a most wonderful and needed vacation.

After having family and friends visiting during Christmas we boarded the plane on Jan 2 and spent a week in Runaway bay Jamaica. Had awesome weather and I was able to hit the beach and snorkel everyday that we were there.

I only saw about 10 motorcycles during our week there, quite surprising as last year we went to the Dominican Republic and bikes out number cars there. One bike that caught my eye was a 1980s vintage 4 cylinder in-line Honda that the Police were using.
It looked like a $500 beater equipped with a siren and red light.

When we got back to Alberta I attended the Calgary international motorcycle show last Sunday. Finally got to see the new 09 Nomad and after checking it out and sitting on it for awhile came to the conclusion that I'm super happy with my 08.
I don't care much for the new bags and I prefer the gas tank on the 08. The 09 felt smaller sitting on it (kinda like sitting on a Harley) ;)
I also don't really like the way the seat is shaped over the tank on the 09, it looks like a big tongue. They had the MSRP listed at 17999 cdn. I was talking to a Rep. from Pro-am cycle from Calgary and they have some 08s on sale for 11999 (cycle show sale) I asked him how many they had left and his reply was "47" I thought I misunderstood so I asked him again. Forty seven 08 Nomads at Pro-am cycle in Calgary. So apparently there still quite a few new 08s to be had.

Our hair doesn't usually look like this.

Wow, looks like a great trip. Weather looks like good motorcycle riding weather. I'm looking for a place to move to. Maybe thats it.

Great way to spend a Canadian winter, eh Bosko?

Nice pics! They look a lot like the place we stayed at last year in Punta Cana DR. Our resort officially discouraged nude sunbathing, but that didn't stop at least 75% of the women from going topless.

Ahhhh the beach....

I wish I could have spent the winter there, but I don't think work would give me the time off. :(

We went to Punta cana last year as well. Really enjoyed the beaches. That was the first time I had been any where south of Fargo North Dakota. It seemed surreal getting off the plane in Punta cana, 60 degrees warmer, the hot sun, cool ocean breeze, green plants and trees, and the nicest Airport I've ever seen.

Here's a picture of the bike I voted for, for peoples choice award at the Calgary bike show. 1947 Whizzer 125cc.

Shoot, I figured one of your northern bretheren would have called you a summona beach after that post. Guess they are out shovelling snow or huddled in front of the fire instead of reading the boards

Glad youhad a great trip and made it back to reality in one piece!
