Laid the bike down last Saturday

A truck ran a light and crossed in front of me as I was turning left. I had no choice but to be hit broadside or lay the bike down and slide into the truck. Put my baby down and hit the truck with my tires. I'm ok, had kevlar jeans and a leather jacket on, but my baby's front fender looks like hell. Anybody know who I can order an oem fender from for less than the dealer's arm and a leg. The irony of the accident was I was returning from an Advanced Motorcycle Riding School.

Jlamz, that sux. Glad that you are okay. No advice for you on how to find spare parts. Nico may be able to tell you. I hear he has lots of experience in that area.

WOW! YOUR excellent reaction is why you escaped without injury. BZ!

That is "Bravo Zulu" which means GREAT JOB in military jargin.

I hate to ask (given the circumstances) but...Did you learn anything in the advanced course that was beneficial in your incident?????

I am always scanning and contemplating my next move each and everytime I ride my Nomad.

I'm glad to hear you're okay. Ebay is always an option. I've seen fenders on there quite often.

Did the truck stop? Any police report? Seems to me if the truck ran the red light, they caused the accident and should be paying for any damage. Your experience speaks well for Kevlar jeans and leather jackets.

jlamz......first off, I'm glad you're OK....I've never been through that, but I can certainly say I'm glad you were able to walk away from it and tell us about it on this forum. The only advice I can give you on the fender replacement is try ebay. Every now and then, a front fender will pop up for bid.

Any accident you walk away from is a good one! Parts are replaceable. Your life isn't. Good job on knowing what to do!

That's always my biggest fear... I car or truck jumping out in front of me without time to react.

Thank goodness that I've never had a spill in 30K miles of riding over the last 2 years. I often wonder how I'll react.

Since you were able to walk away, it appears that you made the right moves. Glad you're not hurt.

Try them. If I remember, I bought my saddlebag top rails from them.

Wow! Glad you are ok. I lost my Concours when a car turned in front of me. Kinda makes your mouth go dry the next few times you encounter a similar traffic pattern. Overall result for me was a Nomad and finding this forum. Hope your cloud has a similarly silver lining.

jlamz,
THANK GOD YOU'RE ALRIGHT!!! Very sorry to hear of your spill, but it sounds like your reaction was the best option given the circumstances.

I replaced a front fender recently, too (minor fender-bender; non-injury also). I went through Ron Green Motorsports:
http://rongreenesportscenter.com/

I think it was $300 and change, but arrived ahead of schedule and in perfect, OEM condition. Went on in 5 minutes flat. Another option (to compare prices) is Xtreme Suzuki/Kawasaki in Ohio: 1-866-848-0355. Call their Parts Dept and ask for either Guy or Travis. Mention that you are from the Kawasaki Forum for a discount. I used them A TON when I had my Boulevard and their prices, service and shipping can't be beat.

Sorry again for your spill, but glad as hell that you're ok...which is the main thing of course. Pretty ironic it happened leaving the Advanced course. Go figure!

Take care,
Daryl
