My bike taken out by a HD iron butt!

One of the guys that I work with finally took my bike out for a ride today. He's a HD guys who is NOT judgmental of metrics, in fact he's owned a few, and he's a real iron butt doing 600 to 700 miles a day (not my idea of fun). He now rides a Police version HD. Anyway, I thought he'd be gone for about 10 minutes, but a half hour later he shows back up at work with a huge smile on his face. Below is his review or the Nomad.

1. He thought when he pulled it off the kick stand, the weight was going to be an issue, but once underway, the weight became a non-issue. Handling was superb.
2. The Nomad doesn't dive into turns like all the Harley's he's owned.
3. The Nomad was smoother than any of his Harleys, with less vibrations.
4. Shifting was quieter and firmer than his HD.
5. The Nomad has great balance at parking lot and highway speeds.
6. He thought that the Nomad offered the best bang for the buck by far, with no one else it the game.

All in all, I wouldn't be surprised if his next bike was a Nomad, he said he would really like to take it on one of his iron butt trips, but for that he has to buy his own.

I can read all the stuff that's written here, but let's face it, we're all biased; we own them. But to get a great review from a Harley riding motorcyclist who's been riding for 40 years is a great complement to our beast, and he wasn't blowing smoke anywhere. Just thought I'd pass it on.

Wasn't blowing smoke eh.

I kid.

I had the same types of comments from an HD buddy after he tried my Suzuki. Makes you feel all fuzzy inside.

I returned compliments, the Night train he has is one bitch'en ride.

Myself I like the fact that I have 2 rides for the price of 1.

Awesome to hear. I have only ridden a HD Sportster 883 Custom. While I loved the sound my 900C and Nomad are superior bikes in my opinion. Though I am looking forward to trying out their bigger bikes. I also think I would love the Rocker C.

So that is where all this global warming is coming from. I wander how we can shut him up?

My Harley riding bud and I swapped bikes for a little 30 mile ride. He was in the market for something bigger at the time and had been eyeing my Nad. This is a guy that also doesn't think anything of saddling up for a quick trip to the grand canyon. Basicly, his comment was I'm going to talk with the Kawa dealer tomorrow. He did, and kept shopping for about another 6 weeks. Ultimately, he found a pretty good deal on a very nice and fully equipted ultra classic. I think he would have gone for the Voyager if it had been out. He liked the Nad a lot but there weren't enough features for him.

On the other side, it was interresting riding his springer, But there is no way I'd want one. You gotta love the ride you're on.

The only other bike I've ridden that I really liked was a 2002 Goldwing. That baby cruised! Just not my cup o' tea. Maybe a 1700 Voyager though!

I swap bikes with some of the guys I ride with just to get an idea about how different bikes ride.
Makes me appreciate my Nomad that much more.

I have had several bikes including a 2003 goldwing which I put 85000 miles on and a Harly sportster and I like the Nomad best of all If only there was a little more power
