Baby needs new shoes

Since I bought my 2007 Nomad (leftover) and started riding it in May I wondered how many miles I'd get out of the stock stones. About a month ago I bought Avon Cobra's, 150/80 for the front and 180/70's for the rear. Price paid through moto x outlet was $326.96. Well, can't wait anymore. No tread left in the center of the rear tire with 11,849 miles at this point.

Made an appointment with the only service/dealer I've ever felt good about in RI., Razee's, to change up the shoes. Since they get $30.00 to mount and balance a tire ($20.00 if you buy the tires there), and they get $75.00 to do the rear and $65.00 to do the front I figure I'm going to let them do it. (That iincludes balancing).

When I made the appointment I told them I wanted the drive gear oil??????? and swing arm taken care of at the same time. Drive shaft oil?????

Waiting to feel the how they fit.

Hey Doc,
I never heard of the Dyna beads 'til now. Are they a gimmick or what? Do you have them in your tires? Did you notice a difference after you put them in your tires? How many ounces of the Dynabeads do you put in each tire?

I love my 06 Nomad and it rides great, but somehow the Dynabeads make it even smoother??

Thanks,
BnG

The rear swing arm service is cleaning and re- greasing the swing arm bearings, and places on the dive shaft, and gear case spline to the spline on the wheel, plus changing the oil in the final drive gear box.

The shock tops have needle bearings as well, which should be greased.

Unless your bike is different from everyone elses, there is practicly no grease on most of these parts from the factory.

Be sure to order and get new swingarm seals as no dealer I know stocks these.

If you have an after market exhaust, you should have new head to head pipe gaskets on hand as well. The rest of the lubes any decent shop will have on hand.

I hope they have a book for torque specs.
