Ultimate Seats

I noticed that "Ultimate Seats" has now pushed back their availability of 1600 Nomad seats until Spring of 2009 instead of their previously advertised November 2008.... :(" title="" border="0"/>

I'm hoping for a new seat for Christmas and was at first leaning toward the Mustang Seat, but thinking seriously about the Ultimate Seat since it was due out by then and I have heard great things about them.

I guess now if Santa is going to bring me a new seat this year...a Mustang it will be (but that's not so bad now is it?)!

One part of their site still shows Nov, other Spring 09.

Have you talked with anybody there to confirm expected delivery time frame?

Kris, If you like the Ultimate better, wait for it and have Santa bring you some more chrome or something else. There's always room for another Kimber or Ugly Stick or something else. Around our house it's usually Fender or Martin or Taylor...and then again there's always Dell and Gateway and...man, now you've got me going!!!

Not sure that it is Doc. Seat comfort is determined by the butt of the beholder.... .

That said...I have just read some great things about them on other forums while blazing the net (as I certainly have about the Mustang as well)...and pricewise...they are a bit more expensive (I think) than the Mustang. That certainly does not necessarily mean better as we all know.

I've never had the pleasure to try either, but the Ultimate Seat does at least LOOK comfy. Of course the only photos they have are from other bikes... :-/.

I just know that the stock Nomad seat has limited comfort on long hauls and anything will be better than that!

Cheers....Kris

These seats are made in Canada, and I spoke with a fella a while back that has had two of them on his bikes. One bike was a Venture, and the other I believe was a V Star. He swore by them that they where a lot better than the stock seats they replaced.
His friend had a Nomad, and Ultimate Seats was apparently already going to use his bike as a pattern to design the new seat. I live about 30- 40 miles away from where they are made, maybe one day I will pay them a visit. They are a bit pricey, but if they provide the comfort, its worth it.

Hi,

I did 700 kilometres on my Nomad yesterday. It was the first real test of my newly acquired Daylong seats. I had absolutely no butt pain at the end of the ride and could have rode another 700 kms.

If you want to be sure you have no issues after you spend big bucks buy the Daylong. I had a Mustang on my last bike and for me there is no comparison. Your passengers will love the rear Daylong seat as well.

Yes, they are expensive but if you want real comfort for the long haul (in my opinion) the extra money is a small price to pay.
