Not what you think...

Yesterday, 4 of us set out to ride down to Tucson. Why, I don't know. Tucson is looked at by Phoenicians as Phoenix's ugly cousin. They just aren't quite as polished and sophisticated down there. Even though the greater Tucson area has a population exceeding 1,000,000, it's still laughed at by some up here. Maybe because it's 40 minutes from Mexico? I don't really know.

Anyway, after a nice mexican breakfast in Florence (you haven't lived until you've had "huevos enchilada style"), we decided to change things and we rode to Oracle Junction then turned and headed NE towards Globe. In Globe we went to the Shamrock Lounge, where the A/C and the beer is ice cold. Here we are outside the Shamrock, preparing for the 60-mile ride back home:

L-R: Bill W & 2008 Heritage Softail, John & 2006 C50T, Bill B & 2003 Volusia, my 2007 Nomad - Look which bike is biggest! We did about 200 miles yesterday and managed to get back home sober & before it got too hot.

. . . and the Nomad is King once again!!! When I stopped on Interstate 17 to take that pic of the Yamaha XS400 in 1981, I got passed by a big pack of HD's. Now who's the boss?

Yeah, well I try to at least be civil with them. I let them hold my helmet and gloves while I use the men's room.

The guy with the 03 Volusia really wants a Nomad. I'm trying to get him to take a look at the Nomad my friend is selling (03 with fairing, trunk and big-bore kit - separate thread).
