Running lights

Anyone convert their rear turn signals to running lights like the fronts? I was thinking about trying it.

How are cars behind you, going to know that you are taking a turn at night ? Sounds bloody dangerous to me.

A change of light bulbs I would hope, to get a running light as well as the brighter filament for the turn signal.

Where I live the law is all rear running lights have to be red in color.

That's the same in most places I think.

Rear turn signals can be amber or red (Federal rules), so making them red running/turn signals would be legal. Leaving them yellow as running lights would be illegal in states with rules requiring red rear running lights. There are no Federal rules for rear running lights on motorcycles.

If you run dual running/turn signal lights, to make them safer, use LEDs. The instant on/off of an LED will be more noticeable than the fade on/off of incandescent bulbs.
