What tire sizes for Nomad 1600?
I run a 150 80/16 rear and 130 90/16 front on my Nomad 1500. Can the same tire sizes be run on the 1600 Nomad? I know the stock rear tire is supposed to be a 170 70/16. Would running a 150 80 cause any issues? Thanks.

It is generally recommended that a tire not be more than 7% or 8% different in width from the tire intended for the rim. The more you exceed this range, the higher the risk of the bead becoming unseated. The risk grows faster when going more narrow as opposed to wider. 150 is almost 12% more narrow that 170. Personally, I wouldn't go there.

I just tried the Kenda Kruz 160/80-16. Fits good on the rim. It is a little bit taller. I have about 4000 miles on it and it is hardly showing any wear. And it makes the speedometer pretty accurate.

A 1600 Nomad rear wheel is 4.5" versus (I think) 3.5" on the 1500 Nomad.
Sounds like Sabre-t has some hard reputable data. You probably can't go wrong following it as a guideline. However, contact the tire mfgr and ask them what wheel widths the size is compatible with. Look at it like this: darkside is probably a much greater theoretical no-no than your this size or that size dilemma. I say mount it up and go rip!
