Banff 2021
Greetings VBA'ers,
We are planning a July 2021 trip to the Banff area of the Canadian Rockies. Any of you have suggestions on what do, see while in the area? Suggestions on what to avoid while in the area? Thanks in advance, Smokier

Its a beautiful place to go and visit. Lake Louise is a must see, as well as Moraine Lake.
When your in Banff go to Bumpers Beef House, they serve great meals there. The hot springs are another spot that you should see.

They've cut out a lot of parking so you might have to grab a tour bus out of Banff. Hard to say what it will be like next year. They don't want American visitors right now, there are complaints about them stopping on their way through to Alaska. That's the only way you can even cross the border right now due to the CCP Virus.

Go up to the ice fields from Lake Louise lots of turns and elevation changes and from there go to Jasper. Beware of wild life lots of deer, moose, elk, and bears.

Time of year is important! With the higher elevation you get unpredictable weather till about mid may. Summer months, expect loads of holiday traffic ( loads for us, maybe not for you folks). Enjoy!

Keep us in the loop Smokier, let us know when you're coming and the route you'll be on. Highway 40 through Kananaskis can be a good ride as well.

Greetings,
COVID has pretty ,much killed our BANFF '21 plans. They are officially on hold. Instead, we are going to NC/KY/TN for the '21 Trip. Hopefully in '23 we will get to try Banff. Ride safe, Smokier |

Smokier, bummer if your trip gets postponed!! Banff is on my bucket list, but have thought about taking the train there instead of the bike. This virus sure has taken a lot of fun out of trying to plan anything! We did go the first week of August to the Smoky Mountains and it was fun, but rain every day and not feeling we could do whatever we wanted due to Covid kind of sucked. Really want to plan a winter vacation somewhere tropical, but again feel it is a wait and see situation. Hopefully things will change soon and life can get back to "normal"!!
