Advice needed

Have a bike picked out but owner doesn't have paper title in possession... I believe he owns the bike, showed me the electronic title. What do you recommend?

Thanks!

Walk away 'till you see the paper, IMHO, if he wants to sell it, it'll turn up soon enough. Once the moneys changed hands, you have no leverage............Mike

Ive never heard of an electronic title either, but I'm sure there is a DMV office that you can call and verify the title.

In SC dealerships are required to file anything with a lien electronically.

Greetings Sho_Greg,
What Ringadingh and Ponch said. Check with DMV. There will be a TITLE NUMBER or CERTIFICATE number, usually in an upper corner of the title. (I do not know SC title layout). That number and the VIN is all the DMV needs to verify the matching information, owner, status, liens, etc.

I am former Patrolman - (previous life...) :) Stopping people with no plates or paper plates was one of my favorites!
