Questions, questions, and one problem.

OK, new to the forum so hello! I have a 2010 Voyager that I just got about 2 months ago. Have been looking at them for a while, so I knew 1st thing was to get Ivanized-done. Also replaced the neck bearings. Bike has a little over 16000 miles-bought sight unseen except for pics. 1st Q what is a good synthetic oil to run in it, 2nd Q is it hard to get the heat shields off to wrap the pipes. Problem-- the ABS light is on, I've checked everything I can with limited brain power, no idea what's wrong. Brakes work fine, just curious. All help is appreciated greatly. By the way, the bike is almost showroom clean!

G'day and welcome mate.
Everyone has their favorite oil but personally, I swap between 2 companies-Penrite & Silkolene. Last service I used Penrite 20W50... it quietened the engine noises noticably.
According to the manual the ABS light should stay on(after starting) until you ride off. Not the case ?
Cheers, Pete.

I use Mobil-1 10w40 High-Mileage car oil.

I powder coated wheels for a customer's GoldWing a few weeks ago. His ABS light was on when he brought the bike to me. Turns out the last mechanic to touch it installed his front wheel backwards. The ABS tone ring was then on the opposite side as the sensor. I suspect you maybe have a sensor issue as well, perhaps a broken wire or failed sensor or incorrect reassembly.

Rotella T6 15w40, cost effective, good stuff. Use a GOOD filter!
More important in my opinion...

What BA said, suspect a sensor issue. Front or back. They have a little slop in them if not tight. Check the wires, connections, etc.

Ride safe and congratulations!

It's great that those brands work for you.

But, they aren't exactly staples of the American marketplace.
