Jesse Beeks

As some of you might know and I’m sure some don’t our friend Jesse had a accident a few weeks back. He was on his farm cutting a tree when the tree slid down a pond dam hit him and slammed his face into a stump. He said he knew it was going to be bad when he heard bones breaking in his face. He jumped on his 4-wheeler and made it home.

Last week he under went surgery to fix the bone in his face.

I spoke with Jesse today and his in good spirits and said he may still make our rally in Custer.

There are more detail but I think Jesse should be the one to address them.
He said his computer is down and as soon as he gets it fix or replaced he’ll be back on.

Sorry to hear that, it sounds like he is very fortunate to still be with us. Trees can be quite dangerous, and things go wrong very fast. Ive seen a few bad accidents in the past.
I hope that he makes a full recovery and is up and around soon.

Well, Jesse stuck he as a man who's tough as hell, and not making light of the situation, but hearing he knew it was going to be bad when he heard bones crunching in his face he got on his four wheeler and made it to the house.

I've been using chainsaws for all my life and a couple weeks ago, the first time after thirty years, I found out what that safety brake was for! Sometimes it's during the mundane activity is when the unexpected raises it ugly head.

Count your blessings Jesse it could've been much worse and I'm glad you're ok and gonna make another rally. We can swap some near catastrophic tractor and skidder stories.

Hope you heal quickly my friend!!

Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers. The plan for now is to be in Custer, Gina says on four wheels instead of two, but we still want to see everyone.
I'll head for Little Rock Monday to see Dr's to remove splint on my nose and check eye. I have no sight in my left eye and they're not giving much hope for it to return. They said I broke all the bones in my face, I know it felt like it, especially after they tried to put most of it back in place. This is my second major accident and I'm going to try and avoid any more. I don't know how many times I can get away with it, but this one was tough. Like Framer said i was cutting trees from a pond bank and cut a larger one at an angle and it slid off the bank instead of falling over. The top came my way and knocked me into a stump I had cut earlier, face first. (NOTE: Your cell phone won't work if covered with blood!) So I got on my atv and went and got my son who was feeding cows and we went to the house. He asked if I wanted to call for an ambulance and I asked how bad it was. He said I had a hole in my head, so we got them on the way. Things appear to be getting better now, at least less painfull, but I sure do miss my eye. I'm glad to be here and realize it could have been much worse. Thanks for all your kind words and prayers, hope to see you all soon.
My computer was giving me problems before and during this time I didn't mind much except for checking on you guys. I miss hearing about everyone, You have truly become like family (the good kind). THANKS!

Jesse, I have thought of you many times in the past few weeks.
You have indeed had your share of serious accidents.
I'm sorry to hear the doctors prognosis on your eye.
Doctors aren't always right and miracles do happen.
Let me know if I can help in some way. I mean it.
Take care of yourself. I hope to see you in Custer.

Good to hear from you Jesse. Glad to hear things are getting better. Hope to see you in Custer.

Loosing a eye would be tough. I have been blind in one eye since birth, and though I don't know what its like to have two. I do know there's is thinks you have to compensate for. But with a positive attitude we can over come most anything. Will keep you in my thoughts.

This is great to hear Jesse!!! The best way to recover from anything is to get back out there and get into it as best you can as if nothing ever happened.

Like you said,It could've been much worse and we're all glad it wasn't. Farm work for the most part is safe until the unexpected happens.

See you in Custer for some wind down time.
