So It's getting chilly. What are you wearing?
For My Vaquero
So after we dropped below 50f I put on my Sage Brush engine guard covers. Below 40f I wear my leather chaps, Kilm snow mobile gloves and a hoodie ( Bunny Hugger= for those in certain areas of Canada) under my jacket. Going to the full face helmet. Below 30f I wear my Snowmobile Jacket and have my Sedici heated gloves and run the wires between the jacket and the liner. Plugged in to the wire under the seat. And Snow Pants/Bibs. Below 20f I add the Snowmobile boots. Nice to have a heal-toe Shifter. Plan to use my heated shoe inserts this year just for fun. ( Longer Battery Bolts to accommodate the extra add-ons/ direct wired accessories ) Keeping in mind I drive City streets in Minneapolis. No real Freeway time. So What do you do?? If you park it. So be it, No shame there. I like to ride. I have a 2016 Vaquero and a 1992 truck, maybe that shows my commitment, to what is important to me.

I layer up as the temp drops. I add the liner to my jacket and start wearing pants, firstly. Gauntlet gloves are next. Then, I'll go to thick jeans, and then longjohns underneath with snowmobile gloves. On top of all that, I'll throw on my rain gear as an added layer. If absolutely necessary, I'll add more layers of longjohns. This setup has taken me through about 10 degrees in NC along the coast, so it's worked well.

For work, shorts. Occasionally, a kilt.

Lol
I am with MBarr to a degree. (PUN intended). But thought this was funny!
My commute is 115 miles one way (once a week). There is a cold spot between house and office, which is tyically 4~6 degrees cooler. That said my take off temp limit is 36F. No heated anything, just layers. We snow ski, so use many layers and snow gear for those rides. An hour and forty minutes of 30 + wind-chill is about all I want. The return trip is usually much warmer! Ride safe, Smokier

Well I'm gonna add this:
I turn on my Daylong Seatwarmer when my Butt is cold. I turn on my Avon Heated Grips when my hands are cold. Below 55, I'll put on my Gerbing heated jacket under my Tour master jacket Below 50 I'll turn it on. Below 45 I'll break out the Gerbing heated gloves (Best waterproof rain gloves I own) At 40 I'll turn them on. Less than that I'm usually plowing snow - I really should hook up my heated gear to my Polaris 4-wheeler. |
