No Fuel Pump, No Spark....

Okay, okay... so it's a 2002 1500 Drifter, but my Chilton's says it's really like a Nomad!

My ignition switch took a dump, would only work in a "half-way" setting for everything to work. And not really wanting to have TWO keys for everything, I wired in a 50 amp toggle switch in a secret location, leaving the now dummy ign switch to throw off the predators.

So, white is hot, brown and gray go to the important stuff and red and blue work lighting (independent of everything, so those can just be permanently mated and tie into the system down the line...

So, everything should work? Nope, NO fuel pump nor spark!

I checked and rechecked connections and have power going to the fuel pump regulator.

I'm gonna order a new ign switch BUT WOULD RATHER NOT!

Anybody out there in Bagger Land have this issue? I'd hate to think I fried the ECM....

Thanks!
Harry

Read this thread all the way thru.
If your bike has the resister that is your problem. You bypassed it.

I'm pretty sure it does, though not completely positive. Look at your electrical schmatic, you'll see it.

Just solder in a 100 ohm resistor on the gray wire.

You'll need it with the HD switch anyhow.
