To Ivan-ize or not.

So there has been so much discussion over ivaizing or not. So while I decide the longevity of how long I am going to own my 2009 Voyager, of course I toss around the option of Ivanizing.

Now my bike has a K&N drop in, drilled stock pipes and a Dobeck EJK.

Since the Dobeck the bike runs amazing, however the herky jerky throttle really annoys me. My question is, is Ivanizing going to fix that, or would I be better saving a lot of money and just doing Ranarchy throttle grip mod.

I don't know if I want to keep putting money into this bike because im sure there will be an upgrade in a year or two, reason being is I want ABS and I want a different color.

I had Ray's throttle mod before I Ivanized my bike. After a few months I removed the throttle mod for a smoother slow on and off throttle response. I ride a lot of mountain roads and wanted something less jerky for the slow tight turns. It runs much smoother now with just the reflash only.

As well, I had the throttle mod before Ivan's flash. I like the two paired. If your going to keep it for another 1 -2 years. I'd do it. I was leery at first and must have sent 20 messages to members trying to get the "real" story. It's amazing what this does for the bike. If anything you'll know you want to do it your next one and wont spend the money on a processor.

Don't hesitate at all, w/ Ivan's flash you can probably sell the EJK tuner.

It comes down to how long are you going to keep the bike.
You state it is running fine now so keep it as is and trade it for the bike you really want when it becomes available.

"ABS and I want a different color."
If you are wanting to get a new bike for "ABS or color only" I would wait and get that new bike, but if it is a new Kawasaki 1700 it will still need the Ivanizing.

ive found that with ivans mod the throttle is more sensative .. i had my own throttle mod and took it off because the two together were just to much .. slow turns in first gear like drive ways parking lots etc when u try to creep around bothered me .. any other time its great .. lot of money for a year or two but sure does wake up the bike

I have the Ivanized flash on my 2012 and the throttle mod. Love the flash with the Stock intake and Cobra slip-on exhaust. Runs great. It was worth it.

Ivanized

My 2015 Vaquero is ivanized and I love it. The jerky jerky motion you speak of was greatly reduced after his ECU mod. I currently have the throttle mod and ECU mod installed on my bike. Good luck!!

I got a pretty unique perspective on this. When I bought the bike, it had all the add ons on it already, except the Ivanized ecu. Thought the bike ran pretty good. Got it Ivanized and it ran even better. Then had the ecu go out. NOTE: not because of getting it done. Anyway, got a plain ecu back in there for now. Yes, there is a difference and it's even more noticeable if you have to go back to a regular ecu.

Get it done.

I first bought the Dobeck EKJ. I only adjusted it to control the deceleration pop, pop, pop. When I began to think about Ivan's programming controlling the cooling fan I decided to let Ivan re-flash my ECU.

I may have been able to set other parameters to match Ivan's work, but the cooling fan isn't something that can be controlled by the EJK.

I would also recommend Ivan's re-flash. I had my work done late in the season so next year will be the real test of the benefits of the flash.
