Hello! I'm Jason from Tulsa, Ok. I've been looking at motorcycles for a couple of months now. I knew that I wanted a big cruiser, and that it would either need to have saddle bags, or I would need to install some. At first, I was seriously considering a VTX 1300. I had ridden several VTX 1800s and liked the ride well enough, just hated the weird exhaust note. The more research that I did, the more good reviews I read about the Vulcans. So, I started looking at those and learned about the Nomad. This was exactly what I was looking for! After a little more research, I decided that I wanted 1700, even though I preferred the looks of the 1600. The 1700 seemed to have the features that I really wanted. Namely, cruise control! Well, after a ton of time on craigslist, I found a bike that I wanted to go see, only, it was in Oklahoma City. 120 miles from my house. So, Saturday I make the trip to OKC and the bike is basically everything I could ask for. 2009 1700 Nomad Black with about 10,000 miles and even has Vance and Hines slip ons. I rode it back to Tulsa and have put about 400 miles on it since then. I am very happy with the bike so far, and cant wait to start customizing it. Thats where you come in! I'm gonna need your help in deciding what to do, so any and all suggestions are welcome.

The first thing I would do is an ECU re-flash by Ivan:

Welcome from Oklahoma and to the South Central Region of the forum. You just missed a great rally in Salem MO and we should be having one in Antlers OK in late September.

I'm sure that I will do this at some point. However, it's riding season and having the bike down while the ECU gets shipped back and forth isn't really in the cards right now. I can't wait to have it done though!
