New guy from Big Sky Country (Montana)
Hi, I'm Jamie, and I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.
My first bike was an '80 Honda CB650 Custom. Kind of in rat-bike shape, but a good bike to learn on. Next, I picked up an '81 KZ1100-A1, and that first taste of 4-digit cc power was addictive. Unfortunately, it was a money pit; so many overheating and oil leakage problems that it became more work than the fun was worth. When I finally had the money to look at a little nicer bike last summer, I found and bought a '99 Honda Shadow VT1100C, my first v-twin. Beautiful bike, loved the ride, but it was a little "bare bones" and the power was a little disappointing after the get-up-and-go of my KZ1100. About a month after buying the Shadow, I noticed a Craigslist ad for a BEAUTIFUL, fully-loaded 2004 Vulcan Nomad 1500 FI (VN1500L), and the seller was only asking $300 more than I paid for my Shadow. After a test ride that ended with me groveling at my saint-like wife's feet (and promising to turn a profit on the Shadow), I bought the Nomad. It's my current bike, and I absolutely love it. I mostly ride my bike on my daily 10-mile commute, mostly highway miles. My longest road trip to date has been a measly 90 mile roundtrip, but I'm looking to change that. Trying to find a good travel companion and carve out some time. I've attached photos of all my bikes, past and present. Looking forward to participating in this forum.
