Spectre 48056 Blue Filter breaking apart

I am having some issues with random popping coming coming from the the throttle body and sometimes popping and dying when taking off in first so I replaced the plugs and cleaned the throttle body and replaced the air filter. The problem got better but still there. It had the white spectre filter (4805) and I replaced with the blue one part number 48056. It has been on the bike for 3 weeks and I noticed the housing of the filter is breaking apart in some places. I ordered some white filters last night. Has anyone else had this happen? What other choices of filter is out there?

K&N is what I am using and it has held up for yrs in the hot sun. Also had popping back through the throttle body at times on quick throttle on. Filters didnt help. Tuning the TFI helped the most. Still get one occasionally.

Popping back through the intake usually means its too lean, needs more fuel, or you have a vaccum leak.
