Dead bike??

Help, had a great evening ride till we stopped at a market, when I turned on ignition key to leave I had nothing, no lights, horn , fuel pump, no nothing. Check all fuses included 30 amp main fuse all good. Parking light does come on along with light bar around license plate. What am I missing ?? any suggestions? Could it be in the kill switch

I just checked mine with the kill switch in the stop engine position; the parking lights, horn, license plate light, fuel pump and turn signals work. The fact that several of your electrical items are not working points to another issue. I'm sure one of the great electrical trouble shooters will help out.

You may think your battery cables are tight but you should still loosen them , turn them back and forth and re tighten them.
My bike did the same thing and that is what was wrong.
It is worth a try.

modern batterys just quit suddenly with little or no warning - do a load test / cold cranking test before u start spending money

Under the seat next to the tank is a small black plastic box full of fuse's,you might want to check those.

The battery is the very first place to start. If you don't have a multi meter then it might be a good idea to buy one they are not expensive. If your battery is going to start the bike then it should be reading 12.5 -12.7 volts. If you get that then it is something else, as mentioned start by loosening, moveing and re tightening the cables. If you got in that first test say 11 or below volts, either the battery went south, something discharged it, or your charging system is not charging it, but given that the bike was running and was dead on restart I would be more inclined to rule out any charging problem for now.

Just remembered that happened to me once, my ignition switch was a bit sticky and i had'nt turned the key to the right position,it is a 2 stage ignition,it is on mine anyway.

My bike did pretty much the same thing about a year and a half ago. I pulled into a gas station to fill up and when I went to start it, nothing. Ended up being the battery. These things go bad pretty fast sometimes.

It could also be the ignition switch, can you here the fuel pump buzz for a few seconds when you turn the key on?

Pull the clutch in and try it, mine did it the other day for no reason really, I'm thinking maybe neutral detector getting a little dodgy

Is there a tip-over sensor on these bikes? My old bike had a sensor that used to stick all the time.

I've tried a lot of thee above suggestions with no results, turn ignition and still nothing no horn no neutral light, blinkers brake lights, the only thing tha t come on is the parking light when I turn the ignition all the way to the right. Any more suggestions? Question... is there an inline fuse in the headlight assembly?

This spring my bike would start and run fine.
May start half a dozen times in a row, then nothing.
It was the ignition switch. From what your describing I think it's your problem.

Just throwing in my two cents. I did read a thread way back about the ignition switch having a broken wire in behind the housing that the member had to sauder.
I took mine apart and gave it a good cleaning but I gotta say they can be quite testing to put back together . There's a spring inside and some moving parts you don't want to mix up.
I hope you get this issue solved.
