Better horn for the nomad 1600?

I have my newly purchased 2005 Nomad that I have been riding almost every day that I rode it...Today I was heading home during rush hour and an F150 nearly cut me off- I laid on the horn and then I remembered how terrible the horn on this thing is...I could not even tell if it made a noise at highway speeds. I don't know if that is normal for the stock horn or if mine is on the way out but all i know is I want to put in the loudest thing i can fit easily (no remote compressors)! I want something that will mount up fairly easily. Are there any good suggestions?

Lots of the guys and gals on here, including me, have Stebel horns (139db!). Check them out on the internet.

I have a FIAMM 72112 Freeway Blaster - low note. At 130 dB, it's not quite as loud as the Stebel, but it's much louder than stock and super easy to install. Bolts onto the original bracket and the wires plug right in. Takes about 5 minutes to install. I thought about mounting the Freeway Blaster - high note as well, but using both horns is too much for the existing circuit. Tried the low note by itself and it was loud enough that I decided against the additional electrical work.

This is on my Harley, but you get the idea. Looks a lot better than a Stebel, too.

I think you have to take the decibel claims with a grain of salt. Here is a comparison test that measured the decibel levels and none of them were even close to the claimed dB.

You've got that right. I installed a supposedly 130db horn on one of my other bikes and I can yell louder than it.

I'm going to take a look at a couple that some of our members installed though, most especially that FIIAM. I like plug and play with no extra electrical work

I just installed a set of trumpets as well, better than stock but certainly not the claimed 130db. I wonder if i can just install a better compressor.

I have a Stebel mounted behind a side cover. As long as it's louder than the Road Runner meep meep stock horn I'm happy.

After listening to the sound of the various horns on the site GinKings posted, I ordered the FIAMM 72112 Freeway Blaster on eBay. One vendor has it for $14.02 w/ free shipping. Figured I can't go wrong. I had to use my horn for the first time the other day and it scared the hell out of me - because I could barely hear it. Can't imagine what it sounds like in a cage full of screaming kids with the stereo going. Sometimes I miss my old, loud pipes...
