tie downs

I went to strap something down on the Nomad, using one of those nets, and realized that there is absolutely no place on the bike that the net can strap to.

What is everyone using to strap things to? Right now, it's not so important, but come June, I will be taking a 2 week trip, and I will need to strap my bag to the passenger seat.

If it's a bag just use bungees. You don't need the net, I have 10's of thousands of miles with bungee's on the back seat. No issues. Just do an X pattern across the top and go.

If you want to get fancy, make/buy straps that go under the seat. But the Nomad you have to unscrew the seat.

And if you want to go crazy, this thing from Kury is pretty cool.

Thanks for all that info. I have the net, which is why I use it. I don't have anywhere to connect the bungee straps, as all the points to hook on the bike are extremely wide. I will get a set of bungees, and see if I can make them work. Thanks.

The helmet locks on both sides of the Nomad can be very useful. Good tie down spots.

Get longer bungee's...hook on the passenger crash bar...then down between the saddle bags and the wheel you will see black tubes you can grab on. Or loop through the grab bars and back to the luggage rack. Been awhile since I had my Nomad....going on memory here.

They make bungee's with big plastic hooks that won't mare your chrome.
