Best seat for distance?

I'm new to the forum. Great to be here. I'm going to buy a 2015 candy lime green Vaquero, and I want to upgrade the seat immediately. I plan to do mostly day trips, so I'll be in the saddle for several hours at a time. I'd like to know the best seat on the market for keeping my backside comfortable. I'm a big guy (6-2, 350lbs). I'll be taking my wife, so I'll need a good one for her and a backrest. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Totally subjective topic. What works for me may not work for you. No two butts are the same. Your best bet is probably a custom seat like Russel.

I have a Russell Day Long and I love it. I can't think of anyone that has one that doesn't.

I think Russell are one of the few who take into account the riders weight in deciding which architecture and what density of foams will be used.

As discussed - seats are very subjective - On my last bike a Mustang Wide seat was all I needed for 700+ mile days . . . So that was my first replacement seat for the Voyager - The angles and geometry were different and the seat didn't work for me . . . I tried the Kawi Heated Gel seat and that was very nice, but after 450 - 500 miles in the saddle left a rash on my inner thighs . . . Traded my stock seat for a Russell (With some $$ thrown in) The guy who had had bought the bike from a guy who had the same build, height, weight, inseam etc as me and had the Russell built . . . I have found my Voyager Butt Nirvana . . .

Stock Nomad 1700 seat works for me. Can ride all day don't have issues.

Go there read about what we all talk about the Russel Day Long Seats. I say they are the best nothiing like them. They are big bucks but well worth the expense. Of anything you can purchase for a bike this is the number one thing and the first thing you should purchase above anything else for the bike. It will make you really fall in love with your ride for sure as you will be so comfortable you will find no complaints at all with your bike and make all others who do not have this seat so envious of you that you are still riding after hours in the seat and they are sore as heck.

It is the best hands down in my books.

Corbin seat works great on my Voyager. Sets me back just a bit so my balls do not ride up on the gas tank.

I ride a 13' Vaquero and immediately bought a Mustang 1-up seat and I love it. I have yet to do 300+ miles in a day but so far on the 100+ runs my ass is fine. I do need to have the saddle shaved because at a stop I'm on the balls of my feet. I have a short inseam. I have ridden from Colorado to Washington DC on a 1300 V-Star Tourer and with the stock seat I used an AirHawk seat cover. It's an air bladder designed for parapallegics so the don't get hot spots from sitting in a wheel chair. The trick is to put a small amount of air in it. It is worth every penny I paid for it. I will be using it on my Vaquero.

Some can sit all day and ride without discomfort, even on a stock seat. Many are not so lucky and sitting can be downright painful for various reasons. Your mileage is limited by how long you can sit in comfort. After that the journey is not fun anymore, just painful.

For those that can ride all day pain free, I envy you.

Exactly, I paid 400 dollars for a Corbin seat which is a great seat but it's a very firm seat and after 150 miles I start to feel some burning. I bought an Airhawk and it was the best dam 90 bucks I've ever spent. I rode to Daytona a couple of weeks ago and and rode 600 miles straight except stopping for gas and I had no discomfort whatsoever there and back. I love it
