Garry (gv550) will hopefully be along soon. He changes his Voyager into a Vaquero.

We have installed a Voyager trunk on a Vaquero but not the other way around. Vaquero turned out very nice. Takes a knowledgeable eye to tell it's not a factory install. Tricky part was making trim pieces to cover the trunk brackets. I think we ended up charging somewhere in the $2500-3000 range. That was for the trunk, new trim parts (that we modified) and installation. We have also moved the trunk 3" to the rear on another Voyager. Like the Vaquero, it was easy to do but difficult to make it look like it's factory. It can be done...

I'm interested in how you moved the trunk back, if you'd care to share? Given my location a shop visit isn't on the cards ... PM me if you'd rather?

I'm considering modifying the attachment points by cutting & welding on some extensions. With the Russell Daylong passenger seat being higher than OEM, I need the trunk a little higher, and a little further back, and other solutions I've seen on the forums just don't look quite right. Adjustable would be nice, but I don't really want to be the Guinea-pig for something like Kuryakyn's offering for HD.

Vaquero with quick release trunk. A little modifications and voila. Just got to bring to Chaotic Kustoms for some paint :)

And the passenger AKA the wife says it's really comfy. She likes the added lower back rest.

That voyager looks AMAZING....

Been pricing the two bikes and I cant understand why the Voyager seems to be losing value faster than the Vaquero....

But I put a deposit on a Y1999 Yamaha Venture.. gonna go pick it up tomorrow.. It isn't running.. This could be a catastrophe...

Hey Dusted, any way you can put pictures up of the underside? It looks like you used the quick release brackets. I've been looking at that exact trunk to put on.

I used the KQR and removed the upright for the backrest. Added the luggage rack and bolted a trunk i got on ebay to the rack. Works like a charm. Wife loves it. falls asleep on long trips. Damn near have to strap her in.

Oooh a Royal Star - those bikes intrigue me. Curious to know how it compares to Vulcan for torgue and power delivery. I saw a uTube vid of a guy who had one with aftermarket pipes and man did it sound great - not that you can really tell from a video.
