They're back

So the weather is finally starting to be very pleasant to ride here in Florida.
You take your scoot out for a nice comfortable relaxing ride around town doing some errands. Then as your sitting at red light soaking up the blue skies, 77degree balmy weather you find you and your bike laying on the road trying to figure out WTF just happened. You pick yourself up and see the woman behind you getting out of her car and running towards you not asking if I'm okay, but begging me not to sue her.

After asking her how TF she managed to run over someone stopped in front of her, the answer became quite apparent They're Back ( Snow Birds ). The officer who did the report smiled and said the same thing to me as he gave me my copy of the idiot report oh I mean accident report.

This is just a simple reminder to all the Florida members that even being basically parked at this time of year could be detrimental to your health or bike.

We don't have "seasonal" tourists in Vegas. It's like that here year round! Gotta have your head on a swivel! Glad you're OK.

There are lots of snowbirds in my area. I am extra vigilant this time of year, even when driving.

They are everywhere, Snowbirds are here too, but not always the problem. We lost 2 LE Officers last week, one on his way to work on his personal bike, killed by a red light runner, and the other sitting at a red light on duty on his motor and rear ended by a DUI, thrown right out of his boots, quite a horrific scene.
Just quite sad the inattention of the drivers these days.......

Just imagine the trouble we have up here in the land of snow and ice with the ones who stay behind. Bad mindless drivers are everywhere, add conditions that require skill and you get the idea. Glade you are ok.

This is so true. That is how my nomad got destroyed. Sitting still at a red light with the girl sitting still behind me. She dam near killed me. Now I have 5 herniated discs in my neck that will need surgery eventually. Did i mention I had more insurance the she did.

This thread is kind of funny. We think the same thing about you warm weather flatlanders when you come here in the summer...... and in the winter to ski / snowmobile.

Had a Floridian damn near cause a big pile up in Yellowstone this summer because he was in such a friggin hurry...

It's like that where I live. Come October 1, the blue hair invasion starts. They are freaking kamikazes.
