Bike Bling And "Uniforms"

Seems there may be an opening for a thread about what we wear and what we hang on our ride's..to put that Personal Touch/Look, on ourselves..

I'm a Spontaneous Sort..so my patches are not all the same color etc..and many times I'v had a couple 'stimulating beverages", befor making my purchasing decision's...

My Flying Tiger P-40/B-C Fighter With the Road Runner Pilot..was -inspired- by my past profession as a Coyote hunter via Aircraft, in the High plains area's..& Jack Daniels on my part..and some unknown chemical, on the part of the Motorcycle Air Brush Artist,.. that did the work at Sturgis Bike Rally..

As per details..I would change it some..but for the conditions at the time I feel it came out pretty well !

Add your Uniform and bike bling ...so we can see your road-show !

Here I am a few years after the earlier post/photo's
As of Today 11-7-14
I'v got more Sturges Patches...the gap berween 2012-2013..is reserved for my "planned custom patch..12-20-12 Mayan Calender End...to prove via my 2013 patch...That I was still Riding My Big Assed Bike -AFTER THE WORLD ENDED And TIME CAME TO AN END !

The patch on my right chest..is 'Wings Of Honor Reno Air Races 2009"....the pin on my shoulder tab is proudly worn in honor of the 1987 Cow Boy Poetry Gathering, At Elko, Nevada -where I met Michael Martin Murphy-

..I have more bling and patches..but adding them will take some time...

As per Riding Uniform's...I'm wearing my Fire Hose Pants from Duluth Trading...and have them "Bloused" using the "small bungee's"...

No uniform really. I switch between two jackets, a traditional biker type and a First Gear Scout jacket. I have a few sets of gloves, none fingerless. I sometimes wear Sidi On Road boots, usually when I am riding further than commuting and of course my rotten Fulmer AFM modular helmet. No patches or other art, no vests either. After 8 years of parochial school, I hate uniforms.

Yea, most of my "personal touches" are -attached- to my Big Assed Bike !..But I loosly follow a proven effective SOP for riding clothes ...most of the time...

For me it's either the armored leather jacket or the mesh armored jacket. Depending on the weather. Same goes for the lower half. Either leather chaps or just jeans, .....always wear my leather H.D. side zippered motorcycle boots. Never shorts and sandals. ....Oh and a helmet....either the full face on the hwy. or the half helmet for the city. But always a helmet. Oh!! and gloves are a must. I do have fingerless but have never worn them. So if you want to call it a "uniform" that would be it. But "all the gear all the time" is what I go by.

The bike has everything I need......not a lot of "bling" really.

I'm with ponch. I had enough of the uniform look during my 9 years in the military. I even bought a brown classic biker jacket and brown chaps just so I wouldn't be another one of the biker legion dressed in black. In the warmer months I wear a faded denim vest or a sleevless blue heavy cotton work shirt. No patches though, just don't care for it. I wore a local club patch for awhile until it broke up but other than that nothing.
I do like your P-40. I've been an airplane nut since I was a kid and use to read anything I could find about the AVG (Flying Tigers) in China.

I'm on the right. Elsinore Ca is under that fog bank behind us. We're waiting for it to lift so we can ride down the mountain.

I used to wear "the uniform". Not anymore, I just don't give a crap. I dress so I'm comfortable and ride.

I went with a brown vest, just to be different from the "sea of black" as well. Here's the back with my various patches (not sewn on at the time - pic was so that my "seamstress" knew where I wanted them placed):

Everything I wear is black or dark. If I wanted to be colorful I'd hang out with the rainbow coalition. Ha.

Interesting thread, very tribal; I've got the black Schott Perfecto and a black Schott Cycle Ryder, but also have two sixties style brown ones, a leather shirt, and a textile mesh. I don't like to ride bare-armed, so in warmer conditions, I'll sometimes wear a white dress shirt ($2 at local second-hand store) under a vest. The white sleeves moving in the wind are very hi-viz. I stuck my old army unit insignia on my silver half-helmet and have a few stickers on the windshield, but no pins or patches on jacket or vest. I do have a home-made license plate frame - VETERAN on top, U.S. ARMY on bottom.

This is the vest I wear. Common vest that I have seen other people have with some of the same patches except for the ones my wife put on for me of places we visited.

I can't think of any real bling on my bike, just comfort or performance mods. I do prefer black not because it's a uniform and certainly not because I'm a conformist, I just like it. I wear my vest when I want to and all my patches mean something to me and that's what counts. The Legion Riders patch is fairly new. This is a riding group within the Royal Canadian Legion and promotes the same support & assistance for all veterans as the parent organization. Hopefully we can get the message out to some of the newer veterans that the Legion is not just an old boys club. I am not a veteran but have been a Legion member for 40 years. I have seen the great work they do and will continue to try and promote their ideals. There are, and have been many members of my family including my father that have served our country through both World Wars and everything after. There is no better time than Remembrance day to give thanks to all Allied veterans and remind us all that we shouldn't forget them at any time of the year.

I usually wear a t-shirt, jeans, riding boots, gloves and a jacket. All black because I like black.
One of my jackets has a shoulder patch of a local club that I ride with, otherwise no patches.
