Well, I pulled the Vaquero Trigger....
After 8 almost trouble free (other than self inflicted!) years and almost 60,000 miles with the Nomad, I finally traded it in on a Vaquero.
http://home.insightbb.com/~kpmh.002/...s/DSCN3637.JPG I had my eye on the Vaq as soon as it came out but tried hard not to fall in love. I failed and last week got a 2014 orange one. I haven't posted much recently but have been lurking and always enjoy the comments and appreciate all the help people are willing to give to help a person out with a problem. I know I've received a lot of good advice and help here over the years with my Nomad. Naturally I've got a thousand questions but will do a lot of searches first to see what has been discussed over the years. The first item already ordered is a higher windshield. Man, that shorty just doesn't do much. Looking at Chuckster's risers too though the stock bar placement is not as bad as the Nomad was and a little back and up should make a big difference. Not yet up to a full new bar install with the electrical wiring mods and new lines. There will be a hell of a lot of wires to slice and I thought the Nomad had a lot. Future wishes will be V+H slip ons, maybe a new intake and a PCV. Maybe the running light kit though I still have the running/turn signal combo I had on the Nomad that I may use if I can figure out the wiring under the shield. Anyway, lots of fun to look forward to. Sorry for the long post but just wanted to reintroduce myself. Thanks, Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Congratulations ! I'm 6ft and the 14" shield works great for me. Your going to love the bike. I had to finally stop with the obsession of adding things.. At least I'm trying to. All ready got a GPS on my wish list.. You will want to get the aux lights.. well worth it.

wind screen
I recently bought a Vaquero...awesome bike! I got a 12" from Rifle. Its about perfect for me..I'm 6" and is a good fit. I put the original short black screen over the new smoked screen. it makes the new install look so much more finished.

Thanks everyone. Looking forward to putting some miles on it. Hopefully we won't have a winter like last year.....!
