Suicide Birds and other things

Instead of posting a bunch of different threads, I thought I'd just post a couple of things in one.

First, Chuckster..... Great risers. So simple to install and definitely made for a more comfortable ride. They were just right for me. They did seem weird at first. Things just didn't feel "right". After several miles, I got used to the new position and feel while countersteering or turning at parking lot speeds.

Second.... Are birds being especially suicidal this weekend? I rode 130 miles home, to my parents in upstate NY, on Friday. During the trip some black object came at me from my left and hit the windshield on the left side with quite the smack. I actually saw the shield flex. It scared the crap outta me. I smacked the snot outta the bird also. All that was left on the shield ws a bunch of white stuff (not bird crap) that looked like snot. I looked back and saw the bird spinning on the ground.

I always wondered about the shield durability in case of a bird strike...now I know.

And, today. I rode those same 130 miles back and another bird dive bombed the bike and lost. This one I saw coming. It flew in from the right, went between the fork and frame eventually hitting the left floor board. Again, looked in the mirror to see him rolling down the road. Maybe it's something in the water.

Lastly, I have a question about a particular helmet.

I'm looking at a Vemar Jiani. It's flip front and has a built in sun visor. Does anyone have one? How do they fit? I currently use an HJC Sy-Max. I know HJC has a Sy-Max II with an inner visor but, it doesn't work with my glasses and the edge rests on the bridge of my nose. That can be fixed but the glasses not fitting underneath can't.

That's about it. Thanks for any info on the helmet.
