Half helmet recommendation

Just went thru a search and didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I bought a full face the day I picked up my bike and glad I did, colder ride from Nebraska to Colorado... It also matched the red on my bike pretty darn close
I am looking to add a half helmet for hotter days and short trips. Any thoughts on really good brands? I see some of the brands online but its always best to talk to those in the know. Work buddy has an Outlaw and he seems to like it. Also saw the Nolan brand that someone had. Thanks for your input!

I have 2 KJC brand helmets in the same color as my bike. They work well. I also have an ultra light weight helmet that is carbon fiber. I found it online from a company in Canada. The carbon fiber helmet is very and is easier on the neck and shoulders.

I would say. Bell Pitboss. Great fit, comes with neck curtain and flip down hidden visor as well as an adjustable head tightness mechanism to stop lift on the highway. I have had mine for a month and love it. Nice and light for a DOT and fits really well. Just my 2cs

I have a Harley Davidson "Blade" which is made by HJC, I think it's their IS-2 model. I also have a Scorpion EXO-100. Both have internal drop down shields, both are extremely comfortable and well made.

I used to have a Scorpion EXO 100 as well. It was comfortable and was a good half helmet. I sold it to my neighbor, it was his second one, he ruined the first one in a crash, but it did its job. He really likes them. I sold it because I prefer a 3/4 or bigger. Mainly due to wind noise in a 1/2 helmet. So I now have a modular, a full face, and a three quarter.

My favorite is the 3/4 because it is light. But I would prefer to have the full face if I went down.

2 Scorpions and an HJC.

Just bought a Daytona skullcap... very thin and very light and still DOT approved. I actually prefer not to wear a helmet but i'm traveling up north next month and several of the states that i'll be passing through require them.

Because we all know accidents never happen on hot days and short trips.

My main helmet is a 3/4 Nexx X60 Vintage. http://www.amazon.com/Nexx-Vintage-H.../dp/B003RIU1T2 Very nice helmet! Super light and very well made in Portugal. I've been looking at the Daytonas. I would like to add a half helmet to my collection. They have a carbon fiber model that looks sick and the price is right!

They mostly happen on short days and hot trips.

If it makes you feel any better Tim, I only wear my half helmets on days I know I won't be in a crash.

I have 5 helmets, a modular and a half from Z1R, 2 half Outlaws, and a HJC half. I wear the HJC with a neck curtain when it's cold, the Z1R half has been worn so much it doesn't fit snug anymore, and the modular, I only carry when I go on long trips, and only to use as a "rain helmet". As far as comfort, the Outlaws are the most comfortable I've worn, and they are the quietest too. I also have a 3/4 that I forgot about, wore it once, and put it away, didn't like it one bit. The modular is the loudest helmet, I must wear earplugs when I wear it. All in all, overall my favorite is the Outlaws.

I actually found some DOT stickers at a gift and novelty shop in my town. Placed strategically on the back of my $15 novelty helmet for wearing through the commi states.
