Article in Rider Magazine

Just got the July issue in the mail. Opened it up to one of my favorite sections "Favorite Ride". Low and behold, a Nomad is pictured. Don't see that often.

Nice to see a ride written with a Nomad in the article.

The Nomad needs to be featured more in magazines. When I was doing research before I bought mine, I couldn't find any magazine articles on the Nomad. I did most of my research on this message forum.

In one of the magazines for July, they have an article about 2 up riding and the bikes in the accompanying pictures are Nomads. Funny how they show up as bikes in the articles about touring but all the features are H/D and others.

You must be talking about the one in Motorcycle Cruiser. Take a close look at the pic of the two-up riders in the June 2008 issue; tell me that isn't a mannequin on the pillion!

There is a Nomad featured in the July issue of "Ride Texas" magazine also. In the Lake Fork NE Texas ride story.

Racinchief, I just checked that out. I didn't notice it before but I think you are right. Look at her hands and the facial features. Sure does look like a mannequin.
Maybe he watched the movie "mannequin" and thinks she will come alive when on a bike like the one in the movie. ???

You guys that have the really nice tricked out Nomads (you know who you are) should send in a picture of your Nomad to these magazines. They look a good as any bike I've seen.

Yeah but Dano, you get to show all your friends your bike in a magazine.
Think of all the people who'll look at the pic and wonder where they can get a good lookin bike like that.
Sometimes got to dig a little deeper to get to the best.

Yeah, I noticed that when I got my issue in this last week. Damn nice looking Nomad too. Speaking of Nomads, I was at the Harley dealer this last weekend taking the classroom part of the MSF course so i can finally get my license (don't tell anyone). The dealership was having their big cookout/test drive/sale event. I was very surprised to see some of the riders pull up on Nomads. No fistfighting or anything.

Hopefully some of that's going to change a little when they get flooded with Write-Ups and Pics of our Regional Rallies..... The 2 I'm going to concentrate on are "Rider" & "Motorcyclist"... :)

Motorcyclist is one of the reasons I bought a Nomad. In their column Smart Money they showcased the Nomad and called it the best value in it's class (among other things.) Mostly they seem to focus just on exotics and boy-racer stuff, but I do enjoy the historical pieces and off-beat stuff there from time to time.

Who knows? They just might post a photo of us grizzled old farts if we looked off-beat enough.
